Week Four: Visit ProjectCleanWater.org and use “Find My Watershed” to discover which watershed you live in

If you’ve been following Project Clean Water, you’ve probably heard us use the term “watershed” here and there… and if you’re not familiar, you may be wondering what exactly a watershed is?

A watershed is any land area that channels rainfall or snowmelt to creeks, streams, and rivers, and eventually to a common water body, such as reservoirs, bays, and the ocean. Watersheds range in size from small areas to many miles, and may contain streams, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and underlying groundwater that are located far inland from the ocean.

San Diego County alone is home to 11 different watersheds. Do you know which watershed you live in? Enter your zip code here to find out!
