Tidepool Tips (52W #8) – Project Clean Water

Tidepool Tips (52W #8)

52 Week Pledge, Action #8: Visit a tide pool and create an image or art piece inspired by your visit.

A tidepool is a pocket of seawater that can be found in the ocean’s intertidal zone (where the land meets the sea). Here in San Diego, we are lucky to have a vast number of tide pools along our coastline that provide homes for many fish and invertebrate species. These small wonders of nature are fun to visit and fascinating to explore.

You can find a tide pool near you with San Diego Family Magazine’s Tide Pool Locator. Before you go, read San Diego Coastkeeper’s Tide Pool Tips for helpful pointers.

For this week of Project Clean Water’s 52 Week Pledge, we challenge you to visit a tide pool and then write a poem, draw a picture, write a song or make a craft project that features water as a theme. Let the ocean be your inspiration!
