San Diego Bay Watershed Management Area

SD Bay WMA

The San Diego Bay Watershed Management Area (WMA), as defined by the Municipal Permit, is unique in that there are three major watersheds that comprise the WMA: Pueblo San Diego (908 Hydrologic Unit (HU)), Sweetwater (909 HU), and Otay (910 HU).  The San Diego Bay Watershed Management Area drains to San Diego Bay as a receiving water. The total land area in the San Diego Bay Management Area is 441 square miles with a population of 1,030,690 residents.  The San Diego Bay Copermittees work cooperatively to develop and implement activities to address the variety of water quality issues throughout the WMA.includes the Otay, Sweetwater and Pueblo San Diego watersheds.
